Hipólito Fernández Serrano

Hipólito Fernández Serrano, called Poli, ( born March 20, 1977 in Seville ) is a Spanish footballer who last played for Recreativo Huelva in the Spanish Segunda División.

Playing career

Betis / Extremadura

Poli comes from the youth of Real Betis Sevilla from his hometown. After a year in the B team in 1997, he moved to FC Extremadura. Even in the first season he went with his team in Spain's top league on, after only one year, the overall very disappointing was already back from. Poli spent three more years in the Segunda División in the Segunda División before Extremadura B descent.

Primera División

Poli, however, it moved in the other direction. In summer 2002, he signed a contract with first division side RCD Mallorca where he won in its inaugural season, the Copa del Rey and played in the Champions League. By the Cup victory Poli was again represented internationally with his team in the following season - this time in the UEFA Cup. Despite its common place in Mallorcans he left this in 2005 to hire the climber Deportivo Alavés. The 2005/2006 season was, however, very disappointing for Poli and so he came in only nine league games used. To make matters worse Alavés rose at end of the season unhappy on the last day, since Espanyol in the distance duel scored the decisive goal against Real Sociedad in the 92nd minute. Then moved to the Premiership Poli - promoted Recreativo Huelva. The club he remained faithful even after relegation in 2009.
