Hippothoon
Hippothoon (Greek Ἱπποθόων ) is a figure from Greek mythology.
He was the son of Poseidon and Alope, daughter of Cercyon of Eleusis. He was abandoned by his mother and suckled by a mare, to shepherd found and taunted him. The death of her father imprisoned mother but turned Poseidon in a same source at Eleusis.
When Theseus had overcome and slain the Cercyon in wrestling, he transferred his reign the Hippothoon, who was revered as a hero of the Attic tribe Hippothoontis.
