Hiratsuka, Kanagawa
Hiratsuka (Japanese平 冢 市, - shi) is a city in the south of the Japanese prefecture of Kanagawa.
Geography
Hiratsuka, south of Tokyo and Atsugi, southwest of Yokohama, west of Chigasaki and east of Odawara in Sagami Bay.
The Sagami (river) flows through the city from the northeast to the southeast.
History
Hiratsuka was a post station (宿 场 町Shukuba -machi ) of the Tōkaidō during the Edo period.
The city was founded on April 1, 1932.
