Hiroki Yamada
Hiroki Yamada (Japanese山田 大 起, Hiroki Yamada, born May 19, 1982 in Iiyama ) is a Japanese ski jumper.
Yamada, who belongs to the Japanese ski jumping national team since 2000, made his World Cup debut as a jumper in the national team at the World Cup jumping on 22 January 2000 in Sapporo. He finished jumping on the 46th place. The following season, he jumped in the FIS Grand Prix. In the 2001 / 02 season, he jumped in the Continental Cup, but was taken parallel again and again in the A national team for World Cup competitions. At the World Cup jumping on 1 January 2002 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen in the Four Hills Tournament, he could reach his best individual result with 4th place on the large hill. After another World Cup with Top 10 finishes and a second place in the team competition in Sapporo Yamada was included in the squad for the 2002 Olympics. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, he reached in the individual competition on the large hill and 33rd place in the team competition in collaboration with Masahiko Harada, and Kazuyoshi Funaki Hideharu Miyahira the 5th Place. Add the following to the league season, he jumped again in the FIS Grand Prix, but failed to reach points here after several top 40 placements. In the next Continental Cup season 2002/ 03, however, he could improve his performance. He achieved his best result here with a 2nd place in the competition on July 19, 2003 in Calgary, Canada. He was then placed permanently into the A-National squad and was already at the first competition of the 2003/04 season with a 10th place in Kuusamo on the large hill and daytime convince it with an 11th place at the same location. However, it followed only mediocre results, which is why it was canceled in late 2004 out of the A-National squad and has since started only in the Continental Cup and FIS Cup. Only in the case of World Cup competitions in Japan, he still belongs to the solid cast within the national group. Mostly he reaches the rear points positions.
