Hiroshi Abe (astronomer)

Hiroshi Abe (Japanese安 部 裕 史, Abe Hiroshi, born 1958 in Yatsuka (now Matsue ), Shimane Prefecture) is a Japanese amateur astronomer who works with the Yatsuka Observatory.

Abe, a graduate of a scientific study at the University of Kobe, is the discoverer of currently ( Jan 2010) 28 asteroids, eight along with Seidai Miyasaka and Robert H. McNaught. He also discovered on August 8, 2007, the Nova ( V458 ) Vulpeculae.

The asteroid ( 5379 ) Abehiroshi was named after him.
