Hiroyasu Shimizu

Hiroyasu Shimizu ( born February 27, 1974 in Obihiro ) is a Japanese speed skaters.

He won the gold medal in the 500 meters and also still the bronze medal over 1000 meters at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, it was enough again to a silver medal in the 500 meters.

In 2001 him the Oscar Mathisen trophy was awarded as the first Asians.

In the general election in 2012 Shimizu candidate for the Hokkaidōer regional party Shinto Daichi - Shinminshu in the constituency Hokkaidō 1 against the Democratic incumbent Takahiro Yokomichi.
