Hirschfeld (Brandenburg)

Hirschfeld is a municipality in the southern Brandenburg Elbe-Elster district. The Schrade community located about 12 kilometers southeast of Elsterwerda close to the border of Saxony and part of the Office Schradenland with the seat in the municipality of Val Gardena.

History

History

The site was probably founded in the 12th century as part of the eastern settlement. However, exact data on the first settlements are no longer discoverable.

To 1428 already managed 16 peasant families that formerly barren and swampy land. 1474 a bell tower was first built, but the 1769 collapsed. The 1786 re- erected church tower is now the symbol of Hirschfeld. The church has undergone a complete renovation in 1997.

After the land reform of 1946, the local farmers were more involved in agricultural production cooperatives. In the aftermath of livestock and dairy farms were built differently.

After the political change in the economic situation of the community has changed. The unemployment rate is now at about 20 %.

Culture and sights

In the list of monuments in Hirschfeld (Brandenburg) and in the list of ground monuments in Hirschfeld are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg cultural monuments.
