Hisel
Hisel is a municipality in the district of Bitburg -Prüm, in Rhineland -Palatinate and belongs to the municipality of Bitburg -Land. It is among the smallest municipalities in Germany by population in fourth place.
Geographical location
Hisel is located west of Bitburg near the B 50 The majority of the district is agricultural land, to the place include 7 hectares of forest.
History
The place is 786/787 first mentioned as Hoensal. He belonged to the late 18th century to power New Castle in the Duchy of Luxembourg ( district Vianden ), before he went to Prussia in 1815 and was managed by the mayor Baustert.
Hisel in 1939 with 42 residents reached a peak, since then, the population has always continued to fall; 1970 39 inhabitants lived here, now there are 20
Parish council
The local council in Hisel consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
Attractions
Worth seeing, especially the oldest surviving house of the congregation, which was built in 1772 Hisel. Also located in the area a number of wayside.
