Hispasat

Hispasat is an operating company of communications satellites for radio and television programs, as well as telecommunications and multimedia services. The company is based in Madrid was founded in 1989. 1992 saw the launch of the first satellite, the Hispasat 1A. In 1996, the hitherto state-owned enterprises have been privatized. Shareholders are currently Abertis ( 33.4 %), Eutelsat ( 27.7 %), INTA ( 16.4 %), Telefónica (13.2%), Sepi (7.4%) and CDTI (about 2% ). Hispasat is measured by sales of the world's seventh- largest satellite operator and a leading provider for the transmission of content in Spanish and Portuguese.

Planned

  • Hispasat AG1: Another satellite, named " Hispasat Advanced Generation 1" was ordered at OHB-System in 2009 and 2015 should be taken as the first mission of the SmallGEO project into orbit. The payload of the satellite to be delivered by Tesat Spacecom.

Reception

The satellites in Europe, North Africa, and North and South America are received. The services offered by Hispasat aimed primarily at people Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries.
