History of A.C. Ancona
The Associazione Calcio Ancona is an Italian football club from Ancona, the capital of the brands.
The club colors are red and white. As the stadium club serves the Stadio del Conero, it can accommodate 26,000 spectators. In the 2011/12 season, the club plays in Serie D, the fifth- highest league level in Italian football.
History
After the founding of the club, the club took first under the name of U.S. Anconitana in regional championships until he rose in the season 1926/27, in the Prima Divisione. 1927/28, the U.S. Anconitana merged with Stamura and founded the Società Sports Ancona, however, took the merger with Stamura only one year. After a year Stamura left the SS Ancona. On 12 July 1932, the SS Ancona merged with Emilio Bianchi team, the newly emerged team called itself now Anconitana - Bianchi. This name kept the club up to the 1981/82 season, when he first took part in a championship under the name Ancona Calcio.
Recent Developments
For the 2003/04 season the club was relegated to the Serie A, but reached here only 13 points, an increase was the last in the series from B. In summer 2004, we began to bankruptcy of Ancona Calcio 1905. The club was then re-established under its current name AC Ancona and had to start over in the fourth division Serie C2. In 2007, the sports center of the Italian Bishops' Conference involved 80 % of the Club, the remaining 20% hold more financially powerful Catholic investors. In August 2010, the club was however excluded from the league because of financial difficulties, which relegated the U.S. Triestina was allowed to remain in the second division. Since the club was unable to pay the required guarantee in the amount of 800,000 Euros and the arrears of € 2.4 million were not paid, the exclusion from all professional leagues and the classification followed in the sechstklassige Excellenza.
