History of pharmacy

History of pharmacy (also called " History of Pharmacy " ) is the study of the historical development of pharmacy. Therefore, it deals mainly with the history of the drug and the drug therapy, the pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry and with persons who exercised influence on the pharmacy of their time. It uses the methods of the general science of history and is also part of the history of the natural sciences as it relates to pharmaceutical scientific principles. But it is also close to the history of medicine. History of Pharmacy is a pharmaceutical sub-discipline, forming a technical group in the German Pharmaceutical Society ( DPhG ).

History of Pharmacy is a teaching professional at the universities. Independent Chairs of pharmacy history there is in Germany in Braunschweig and Marburg, elsewhere it is represented by lecturers.
