Hittin

Hittin or Hattin (also Hittim, Arabic حطين, DMG Hattin ) was a town which eight kilometers north of Tiberias was in the former British League of Nations mandate for Palestine was conquered in 1948 during the first Arab- Israeli war of Israel.

In 1187 the Battle of Hittin took place in the so-called Horns of Hittin, in which the Crusaders were decisively defeated by Saladin.

In Hittin the tomb of Jethro is revered, especially by the Druze.
