Hiyoshi-Taisha
The Hiyoshi Taisha (Japanese日 吉 大 社) is a Shinto shrine in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.

History
The first written mention of Hiyoshi Taisha goes back to the 8th century Kojiki. In the Middle Ages the shrine by the Enryaku -ji temple was influenced so some Buddhist ideas were incorporated.
The building of the shrine were burnt down in 1571 by Oda Nobunaga in the destruction of Enryaku -ji, however, constructed in the late 16th century.
