HK MK Bled

The HK MK Bled (Slovene: Hokejski club Mlade Kategorije Bled) is a Slovenian ice hockey club from Bled, whose senior team until 2011 took part in the Slohokej league.

History

The HK MK Bled was founded on 8 July 1999, only a few junior teams were initially operated. This was done with great success in the short time since existence of the club, the team was able to win the title three times the Slovenian Youth Champion. In the season 2005/ 06 the HK MK Bled came at the invitation of the Carinthian Ice Hockey Federation for the first time in the former Carinthian League and was able to immediately advance to the finals, where the team defeated the ESC stone village. This was repeated the following year, this time the team against a young team of EC VSV lost.

Between 2007 and 2009 the club was also represented with a seniors team in the Slovenian Hockey League. Here, the team was able to qualify in two years playing for the play- offs. Subsequently, the club participated in the Slohokej League until 2011.

Venue

The home ground of the club is the built in 1974 Hokejska dvorana Bled. It offers a total of 1736 spectators. In addition to the normal league play and the Rudi - Hiti - Summer Cup will be held each year before the season starts, a preparation tournament for club teams, have participated in which representatives from Slovenia also teams from Austria, France and Switzerland.
