HK RÄ«ga

The HK Riga (formerly Dinamo- Juniors Riga) is a Latvian ice hockey club from Riga, which has operated since 2009 as a farm team of Dinamo Riga and at the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja league, the KHL - associated junior league, participates.

History

In the summer of 2009, playing as SK LSPA / Riga U20 team of SK Riga was dissolved, incorporated into the KHL Dinamo Riga club and renamed to Dinamo- Juniors Riga. In addition, the squad with players of HK Riga 2000 was filled, previously gone bankrupt and had previously acted as a farm team of Dinamo. The Juniors took first part in the open Belarusian Championship and 2010 Latvian Champion.

2010 was a further restructuring of the farm teams. Here, this has been renamed to HK Riga and included in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League ( MHL ). Players of the new MHL teams were mainly recruited from the SK Riga 18 who had participated in the Latvian Hockey League until then. 2011, a more junior team for the second division of the MHL was reported. This was HK Juniors Riga called and played between 2011 and 2013 in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League B.
