HLB Germany is a network of independent law firms in the areas of tax and accounting, most of whom work for companies in the SME sector. The 19 separate and independent member firms with 41 offices are part of the global network HLB International. The network is organized under the umbrella organization HLB Germany GmbH, headquartered in Dusseldorf and is ranked 6 in the Top 10 ranking operating in Germany Networks with independent members of society.

Foundation and History

The global network was established in 1969. The name is an abbreviation of HLB Hodgson Landau Brands and based on the names of three of the original founding partners: Hodgson Harris ( GB), Mann Judd Landau (USA) Brands & Wolff ( NL). Over time, these names disappeared through various mergers and 1990 the network in HLB International ( HLBI ) has been renamed. The acronym now stands for the phrase " Helping Local Business Internationally ".

End, 2009, the global HLB composite over 450 offices with more than 1,700 partners and 14,000 employees in over 100 countries around the world, including all major economic centers of the world.

2008 HLBI has been accepted as a member of the Forum of Firms, which also includes the Big Four are.

1972 began in Germany both auditing and tax consulting firms trust Mercury Dr. Schmidt and Partner KG in Wuppertal and Hamburg Trust Albert Blunk, Schomerus & partners in working together under the umbrella of HLB Germany GmbH and joined to the international network. Later, several more firms joined the composite added: So 1978, the Linn Goppold Treuhand GmbH in Munich, 1985, the Düsseldorf Dr. Schumacher & Partner GmbH, 1989, Dr. Service & Partner KG in Koblenz and 1994, Bielefeld Dr. Stückmann and partners.

Is coordinating the work of HLB Germany by a 4- member Executive Board and a Central Secretariat with a Secretary and an assistant. The tasks of the Central Secretariat belongs among others the organization of conferences and seminars, the organization of working groups and the development, coordination and monitoring of joint projects (such as quality assurance, marketing or in the education and training ). At the same time the Central Secretariat is the interface between HLBI and the German member companies.

HLB Germany occupied in 2010, according to the survey by the International Accounting Bulletin ( IAB), the number 7 in the network and composite firms ranking.
