HMS Danae
Seven ships of the Royal Navy have been named HMS Danae, the name goes back to Danaë from Greek mythology:
- The first HMS Danae (1759 ) was a 38 - gun ship, which was captured in 1759 by the French in 1771 and scrapped.
- The second HMS Danae (1779 ) was a frigate of the 5th grade, which was in 1779 removed the French as pinch and sold in 1797.
- The third HMS Danae (1798 ), a 20 - gun ship of the 6th grade, was conquered in 1798 by the French, and went in 1800 after a mutiny of the crew again in a French possession back.
- The fourth HMS Danae (1867 ), a screw corvette of the Eclipse - class was used as the Hulk since 1886 and sold in 1906.
- The fifth HMS Danae ( D44 ) was a 1918 from the stack overflowed light cruiser Danae class, which served as ORP Conrad of the Polish Navy in the Second World War and was sold for scrapping in 1948.
- The sixth HMS Danae was later then planned as a destroyer of the Battle - class destroyer as the Daring class, but was not built.
- The seventh HMS Danae ( F47 ) was a Leander - class frigate, which was launched in 1965 and was sold to Ecuador in 1991, where she was under the name Moran Valverde in use.
