HMS Daring

Seven ships of the Royal Navy have been christened HMS Daring, the English word for bold:

  • HMS Daring (1804 ), a brig of 12 guns, was launched in 1804 and was destroyed in 1813, after she had run away from one of the Îles de Los aground.
  • HMS Daring (1844 ) was also a 12 -gun brig, which was launched in 1844 and scrapped in 1864.
  • HMS Daring (1874 ), a sloop of the Fantome class was launched in 1874 and in 1889 sold for demolition.
  • HMS Daring (1893 ) was a 1893 by the stack overflowed destroyer of the Daring class, which was scrapped in 1912.
  • HMS Daring ( H16 ) was a destroyer of the D- class, put into service in 1932 and 1940 before the Pentland Firth was sunk by torpedoes from U 23.
  • HMS Daring ( D05 ), a destroyer of the Daring Class ( 1949), was placed in service in 1952 and scrapped in 1971.
  • HMS Daring ( D32 ) is a guided missile destroyer of the type 45, or Daring class ( 2006), which was launched in 2006 and entered service in January 2009.
