HMS Jamaica

Six ships of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Jamaica by the island nation of Jamaica in the Caribbean.

  • HMS Jamaica ( 1710), a sloop with 14 guns, which was launched in 1710 and scrapped in 1715.
  • HMS Jamaica ( 1744), a sloop with 14 guns, which went down in 1744 and 1770 launched from the dock in front of Jamaica.
  • HMS Jamaica ( 1779), a sloop with 16 guns, which was purchased in 1779 and 1783 sold again.
  • HMS Jamaica ( 1796), the former French Percente who looted in 1796 and was adopted as the sixth class frigate with 26 cannons in the Royal Navy. It was sold in 1814.
  • HMS Jamaica (1825 ), a fourth-class ship of the line of 52 guns, which was commissioned in 1825 in order. The building was set in 1829.
  • HMS Jamaica ( C44 ) was a cruiser of the Crown Colony - class, launched in 1940 and scrapped in 1960.
