HMS Liffey

Several warships of the Royal Navy have been named HMS Liffey after the river Liffey in Ireland

  • HMS Liffey (1813 ) was a frigate Endymion class with 50 guns, which was launched in 1813 and scrapped in 1827.
  • HMS Liffey (1856 ) was a frigate with screw drive, 51 guns and 3,915 tons displacement. She ran in 1856 from the stack and in 1903 sold for demolition.
  • HMS Liffey ( 1904) was a torpedo boat destroyer of 550 tons displacement, which was launched in 1904 and scrapped in 1919.
  • HMS Liffey ( T81 ) was an armed trawler of the Axe- class, was launched in 1916 and was sold in 1947.
