HMS Sceptre

Several ships of the Royal Navy bear the name HMS Sceptre (English: Scepter ):

  • HMS Sceptre (1781 ) was a sailing ship of the line with 64 guns. She ran in 1781 from the stack and sank in 1799 in a heavy storm in Table Bay near the Cape of Good Hope.
  • HMS Sceptre (1802 ) was a sailing ship of the line with 74 guns. She ran from 1802 batch, was decommissioned in 1815 and 1821 canceled.
  • HMS Sceptre (1917 ) was a destroyer of the R-Class. She ran in 1917 from the stack and in 1926 sold for scrapping.
  • HMS Sceptre ( P215 ) was a submarine of the S-Class. She ran in 1943 from the stack and in 1949 put out of service and scrapped.
  • HMS Sceptre (S104 ) is a nuclear submarine of the Swiftsure class. It was put into service in 1976 and has since been in use.
