HMS Scylla
Five ships of the British Royal Navy have been named HMS Scylla after the mythological sea monster Scylla.
- HMS Scylla (1809 ), a two-masted sloop with 18 guns, which was launched in 1809 and scrapped in 1846.
- HMS Scylla (1856 ), a wooden sloop with screw drive, which was launched in 1856, and in 1882 was sold for scrapping.
- HMS Scylla (1891 ), a cruiser of the Apollo class, which was launched in 1891 and did service until 1914.
- HMS Scylla (98 ) was a light cruiser of the Dido - class, launched in 1940, in 1944 severely damaged by a sea mine and in 1950 was sold for scrapping.
- HMS Scylla ( F71 ) was a Leander - class frigate, which did from 1970 to 1992 service and was sunk in 2004 as an artificial reef off Cornwall.
