The HMS Springer ( P265 ) was a submarine of the British Royal Navy. The submarine was in 1958 handed over to Israel.

History

The Springer was a boat of the fourth contract section of the S-Class. This is also referred to as a contract section Subtle class. She was born on May 8, 1944 Cammell Laird placed in the North West of England Birkenhead on Kiel, ran on 14 May in 1945 by Stack, and was put into service by the Royal Navy on August 2, 1945.

The submarine was handed over to Israel in 1958 and renamed Tanin. The tannin was used in 1967 in the Six Day War. The submarine set down in Alexandria commandos who were to attack the city's harbor. They also attempted a torpedo attack on an Egyptian sloop, but was pushed away and damaged by water bombing.

The Tanin was put out of service in 1972.
