HNK Å ibenik

HNK Šibenik is a Croatian football club from the city of Šibenik.

History

The football club was founded in 1932 under the name NK Šibenik and renamed with the founding of the first HNL in 1992 in HNK Šibenik. As a founding member of the new league, the club initially not from increased despite two last places because of the circumstances of the Croatia war. Only in 2003 was the descent into the second HNL. Since 2006, HNK Šibenik again belonged to the elite league in the country. Team reached in the 2009/10 season, the Cup Final and lost in two games against HNK Hajduk Split. Then took place in the 2011/12 season, the descent into the 2nd Croatian league after only reached the 14th place and a year later had to Šibenik even back in the 3rd HNL, since the association was no license in fourth place.

Stadium

Their home ground is " Šubićevac ", named after the district. It was built as the stadium Poljud in Split in 1979 for the Mediterranean Games and served as the venue for the associated football tournament. By club information it holds about 10,000 spectators.
