HNLMS Dolfijn

Several warships of the Dutch Koninklijke Marine bear the name of Hr. Ms. Dolfijn ( Ndl dolphin ) - Hr. Ms. is an abbreviation for " Harer Majesteits " and the name prefix of Dutch ships ( Her Majesty's ship):

  • Hr. Ms. Dolfijn (1889 )
  • Hr. Ms. Dolfijn (1941 ) was an auxiliary minesweeper. The British trawler was launched in 1920, was put into service in 1941 by the Netherlands Navy and 1944 released.
  • Hr. Ms. Dolfijn (1942 ) was a submarine of the British U- class. The boat was launched in 1942 and was placed out of service in 1952.
  • Hr. Ms. Dolfijn (1948 ) was a British submarine of the Taciturn - class (T- class). The boat ran in 1942 with the name HMS Taurus from the stack and was used by the British Navy in the Second World War. Between 1948 and 1953 continued the Dutch Navy, the submarine under the name Dolfijn. The submarine was scrapped in 1960.
  • Hr. Ms. Dolfijn (1960 ) was a submarine of the Dutch Dolfijn class. The boat was launched in 1959 and was decommissioned in 1982.
  • Hr. Ms. Dolfijn ( S808 ) is a submarine of the Dutch Walrus class. The boat was launched in 1990 and since 1993 has been in active use.
