HNLMS Tromp

The Dutch Royal Navy had a total of five ships named Hr. Ms. Tromp or Zr. Ms. Tromp, who were named after the Admiral Maarten Tromp:

  • The first Zr. Ms. Tromp was an unprotected cruiser of the Aceh - class, ran 1877 off the stack
  • The second Hr. Ms. Tromp - full name: Maarten Tromp Harpertzoon - was a steam-powered armored battleship, been launched in 1904 and 1932 canceled
  • The third Hr. Ms. Tromp was a light cruiser of the Tromp class in 1937 rolled off the stack, put into service in 1938, used in World War II and demolished in 1969
  • The fourth Hr. Ms. Tromp ( F801 ) was the lead ship of her class of guided missile frigates, left in 1973 by the stack, put into service in 1976 and launched in 1999
  • The fifth Hr. Ms. Tromp ( F803 ), the second ship of the De Zeven - Provinciën - class of destroyers / frigates entered service in 2003
  • Ship name of Koninklijke Marine
