Hobart Cavanaugh
Hobart Cavanaugh ( born September 22, 1886 in Virginia City, Nevada, USA, † April 27, 1950 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.
Life and career
Hobart Cavanaugh was born in the gold mining town of Virginia City. His father worked as a railway engineer, the family moved to California. First, he wanted to become an engineer like his father and studied at the University of California. However, the drought, great actors saddled with a mustache to the profession of the actor and was in 1916 made his Broadway debut. The Broadway he remained until 1948 in more than a dozen pieces connected. Made his film debut in 1928 in the film Cavanaugh San Fransisco Nights at the side of Mae Busch. Around 190 film appearances were followed up to Cavanaugh's year of death, of which about three-quarters were mentioned in the credits. He often appeared as a " little man " on that is not taken seriously, or buried by other figures. Most of his roles were nervous or sappy, but in some films, Cavanaugh's figures turned out at the end of the film as a villain. Mid -1930s, Cavanaugh reached its greatest success with supporting roles in Captain Blood, A Midsummer Night's Dream and his secretary. Several times he played with James Cagney. He also worked as a teller at three documentaries.
In 1913 he married Florence Hester, they had a child. Hobart Cavanaugh was buried in the cemetery celebrities Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
