Hocico

Hocico ( pronunciation: [ osiko ] ( Mexican Spanish ) ) is a Mexican band from the electrical environment.

Band History

The two Mexicans Erk Aicrag ( lyrics and vocals) and Racso Agroyam (programming) were formed in 1993 to a band under the name Hocico de Perro. The slightly strange-looking ( and little Spanish sounding ) names of the two are Ananyme their real name Erik Garcia and Oscar Mayorga. A six-legged spider that bears an H on the back, is the symbol of two cousins ​​who share their musical experiences and interests since childhood. At the age of 15 years Racso started with a Yamaha keyboard to experiment. At the same Erk began singing samples and wrote the first texts.

Racso had no mixing or recording facilities and so he focused on training himself before 1993.

The majority of the lyrics is about issues such as the representation of hatred and violence, or rejection of religion. The distorted, aggressive vocals are held in English or in Spanish. With the songs " Starving children" ( German: " Starving Children ") and " Tales from the third world " ( German: "Tales from the Third World" ), the band released two socially critical songs about their Mexican homeland.

Hocicos first live performance was on 18 February 1994.

The band has seen the world in Germany, the largest fan base and occurs in larger music festivals of the black scene, such as Wave -Gotik-Treffen on. The Berlin-based record label Out Of Line, the band has released their first official CD and has since been in this contract. Out Of Line sells the CDs in Europe, in North America they publish their CDs at Metropolis Records.

Side projects

Erk Aicrag founded in 2003 under the name Rabia Sorda his solo project. To date, three albums and three singles have emerged and been published in Out of Line:
