Höfði

Höfði [ hœvðɪ ] is the annex of the Icelandic capital Reykjavik.

History

The building was built in 1909 by order of the French Government for the French Consul. In 1958 the city bought the house Reykjavík.

In the building took place from 10 to 12 October 1986, a summit meeting ( " Reykjavík summit" ) between U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, instead.

Before the guest house is a sculpture by the artist Sigurjón Ólafsson.
