The Hofsá í Vopnafirði is a river in northeast Iceland.
Course
The Hofsá is the outlet of the lake and flows Sænautavatn after 85 km at Vopnafjörður in the Greenland Sea. On the way she takes the water of many smaller rivers into itself. Once it has left the Jökuldalsheiði, it flows through the Hofsárdalur and finally empties into the southern Vopnafjarðarbotn.
Fishing
The Hofsá is a popular salmon river, inter alia, when Prince Charles of England. Have been trapped there in recent years from 600 to over 2000 per year salmon.
