Views of the High Veitsch of the Pretul

The High Veitsch, also Veitsch, Veitschalpe, is a mountain massif in the Alps Miirzsteg in Styria. The scenic and flower-filled limestone massif stretches from west ( main peak, 1981 m above sea level. A. ) to east ( plateau at about 1500 m) to the small Veitsch -Alm about 5.5 km.

On the plateau, just below the summit, the Count -Meran House of ÖTK is (1836 m above sea level. A. ). The basic peasant hut ( 1451 m above sea level. A. ) lies on the eastern slopes of the mountain.

Rises

  • From Niederalpl ( pass, 1223 m above sea level. A. ) on the Sohlenalm (1352 m above sea level. A. ), on the west side of the wild comb along, then by a stone gully on the high plateau ( approximately 3 to 3 ½ hours).
  • The north-south distance trail 05 leads from the village of Niederalpl about the so-called sled to the summit (approx. 2 ½ hours).
  • A little further east leads the Styrian Mariazellerweg of Dobrein ( Miirzsteg ) on the plateau ( about 4 hours).
  • Coming from the south ( Brunnalm, Veitsch ) shows the High Veitsch as a powerful Kalkgebirgsstock with steep south walls. The Graf -Meran - house is reached along the serpentine path west of the cliffs (west of the so-called ' Hundsschupfen ', 1 ½ to 2 hours from Brunnalm ) or via the ' Goaß - steign ' (east of the rock walls, about 2 ½ hours).
  • From the East (basic peasant hut ) the Nordalpenweg 01 leads across the plateau to the summit (2 ½ hours).
  • From the southwest of the devil trail leads to the count -Meran - house; This combines the distance trails 01, 05 and the Styrian Mariazellerweg; the paths 01 and 05 connect the Veitsch the Styrian Seeberg. The Devil trail is accessible from the Brunnalm.

Plateau hike

The spectacular scenic exceeded the plateau from Graf- Meran- house on the High Veitsch, the seabed and the Seebodenhütte to the basic peasant hut on the Kleinveitschalm requires about 2 ½ hours. In the opposite direction is to schedule some more time because of the slopes.
