Hohenaspe

Hohenaspe is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

The municipality consists of the villages on the Bekau and Burn Dahl.

Geography and transport

Hohenaspe is 7.5 km north of Itzehoe. Bekau, Rolloher Bek and mill creek flowing through the community. The Federal Highway 23 runs along the western edge of the community.

History

Along with the church, the village of Aspe is first mentioned in 1281. Was using the free- standing wooden bell tower and is built on a hill, St. Michaelis Church, visible far in the area. Because of this privileged position of the Church believed to be the village name was changed in the course of time in Hohenaspe.
