High Castle is located in the Upper Palatinate region north to the south of the district of Amberg - Sulzbach an der Lauterach.

History

The castle was built around the year 1000 in the former Northern March by the Counts of Hohenstein castle as a border county. Culture and sights

The attractions of the High Castle include the town hall and the parish church on the market square.

Located high above the town on the Castle Hill area of the training area Hohenfels the ruins High Castle. However, it belongs to the neighboring village of Hohenfels in directly neighboring district of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz.
