Hohes Brett

High Board of Schoenau am Koenigssee ( from the west )

The High board is a 2340 m ( according to other sources 2338 m above sea level. A. ) high mountain in Göllstock in the Berchtesgaden Alps, on the summit of which is the boundary between Bavaria and Austria. The name is derived from the shallow, stony plateau of the summit area. This provides a good view of the Berchtesgaden Alps and the Tennen Mountains.

The High Board is regarded as unproblematic, rewarding mountain tour and is next to the Schneibstein to the lighter two-thousand around Berchtesgaden. The normal route starts at the mountain station of the Jennerbahn and performs on the Carl-von -Stahl House (1731 m), the steep southern flank ( briefly suspended, but backed up) and the hunter Cross in just over 2 hours to the summit. Another possible starting point with a significantly greater height difference would back fire, from where it goes to the Summit on the Mitterkaser -Alm, the southern flank and the hunters cross, this one needs a good 3 hours. Alternatively, can be ascended from there on the board fork. This route is however virtually no displacement from the board fork and is accompanied only by individual markings.

As rewarding is also the Gratübergang about the Ark heads and the Kuchlerkreuz on the Hohen Goll. These transgression, for which one requires sure-footedness and freedom, offers a good panorama. From the Hohen Goll can also via other routes, for example to Purtschellerhaus or via the Alpeltalsteig (No. 457 ), are descended.

Key point on the normal route.
