Geographical Location
Hohnstorf ( Elbe) is located west of the Natural Park of Lower Saxony Elbe Valley opposite the old boatman town of Lauenburg / Elbe. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Scharnebeck, which has its headquarters in the town of Scharnebeck. Hohnstorf ( Elbe) is located in the Lüneburg Heath

History
Incorporations
On March 1, 1974, the neighboring community Sass village was incorporated.

- Hohnstorf ( Elbe) is located directly on the main road 209 Lüneburg-Lauenburg/Elbe in the border region of Lower Saxony, Schleswig -Holstein and Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. The bridge over the Elbe Lauenburg, a major regional road and railway bridge, crosses on the Elbe, which previously had to be crossed by ferry ( ferry Lauenburg - Hohnstorf ). Opposite, on the northern side of the river is the town of Lauenburg.
