Hoima

Location of Hoima in Uganda

Hoima is a town in western Uganda with about 39 644 inhabitants. It is the capital of the eponymous district of Hoima.

The city is the center of the people of Bunyoro. The Mparo Tombs, the tombs of past kings ( Omukama ) of Bunyoro, lie about 4 km outside Hoimas at Mparo. In addition, the city is the seat of the Catholic Diocese of Hoima.
