Höje River

Höje å is a 35 -kilometer-long, small river in the Swedish province of Skåne with a catchment area of 316 km ². The river originates approximately 20 kilometers southeast of the Lund Häckebergasjön.

The Höje å has the Häckebergasjön two source rivers, namely Björkesåkraån and Olstorpsån, both of which flow into the Häckebergasjön. Significant inflows has not the river.

The river first flows briefly north, bends to the northeast of the village Genarp in northwestern direction from and flows, also north to Staffanstorp over. He later forms the southwest of the Lunder district Värpinge the municipal boundary between Lund and Staffanstorp and finally flows directly at the marina of Lomma in the Sound.

The height differences on the path of Höje å from Häckebergasjön until after Lomma are small. On the 30 kilometers between Genarp and Lomma is 30 meters. Accordingly, the amount of transported water with 2.5 m³ / sec. (measured at Trolleberg near Lund ) low.

The Höje å through a total of three municipalities: Lund, Lomma and Staffanstorp. The catchment area of the river comprises seven municipalities. Among the three already mentioned come Kävlinge, Sjöbo, Skurup and Svedala.
