Holden Adventra

The Holden Adventra is a soft roader, which was produced by Holden in Australia from 2003 to 2006 as a successor to the Frontera. It is based on the Commodore combination of these model years, but has all-wheel drive as opposed to the rear-wheel drive of the Commodore.

Sales of the Adventra never fulfilled the expectations of Holden, in particular, when compared with those of competitors Ford Territory. So he was taken in 2006 from the program and replaced by the Captiva, the one zukaufte by Daewoo of South Korea.

A preliminary Adventra VZ was presented in August 2004 at the same time as the Commodore VZ- series, but it was basically just the well-known Adventra VY VZ - type signs. The actual facelift series of VZ was introduced in February 2005 and is also a V6 engine as standard equipment. The Adventra there was now in four trim levels - SX6, CX6, LX6 and LX8. The six-cylinder models had a 3.6-liter V6 with 190 kW ( 258 hp ) and a five- speed automatic transmission. The performance of the known from the VY V8 engine was increased to 250 kW ( 340 hp) and was only available in the top model LX8. Production of this model ceased in December 2005, because Holden production of this engine gave up and saw no sufficient reason to put investment into the production of the 6.0-liter V8, the fourth generation of GM.
