Holger Stanislawski (2008)

Holger " Stani " Stanislavsky ( born September 26, 1969 in Hamburg ) is a former German football player and current coach.

Playing career

Holger Stanislawski began playing football at the age of eight years when Bramfelder SV. With the Hamburger SV he was A- Youth Champion in the Regionalliga Nord. In 1992 he moved from Barsbütteler SV to SC Concordia of 1907 and has been with the team champion in the League Association Hamburg.

As of July 1993 Stanislavsky played in 260 official matches ( including 79 Erstligaeinsätze ) for FC St. Pauli on the position of Libero. In the Bundesliga season 2001 /02 he was the legendary 2-1 home win against FC Bayern Munich, one of the " World Cup victory Heritage winner ". Due to a sustained on August 9, 2003 torn ligament in his right knee and an associated protracted inflammation of the team captain had to end his professional career. He had a short stint last May 30, 2004 during match against KFC Uerdingen 05

Coaching career

FC St. Pauli

On 20 November 2006 Stanislavsky took over with assistant coach André Trulsen after the leave of head coach Andreas Bergmann provisionally the training line. Stanislavsky and Trulsen were soon confirmed it to the end of the 2006 /07 as a coaching team and managed the same promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. Thereupon, the Stanislavsky extended his contract as head coach for two years until 30 June 2009. Because he did not have the prescribed for the German professional football license, the German Football League, however, refused its recognition as a club coach. Therefore, the former assistant coach André Trulsen was appointed head coach for the 2007/ 08 season, Stanislawski took over the role of team manager. During the season, Stanislawski took the necessary for the B and A license of a DFB trainer courses. In addition, he still held the position of athletic director until Helmut Schulte took this on March 1, 2008.

For the 2008/09 season Stanislavsky was now officially the FC St. Pauli and Trulsen head coach again assistant coach. Parallel to the ongoing league operation completed Stanislavsky in Cologne the eleven month course for football coach and graduated as valedictorian from this. In the 2009/10 season managed " Stani " with his team promotion to the first division. In the following season 2010/11 the club but rose under his direction directly from again. Already on 13 April 2011 Stanislavsky had announced that he would leave the FC St. Pauli at the end of the season.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim

In July 2011, he became head coach at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. On February 9, 2012, separated Stanislavsky and the club. With him leaving his assistant coach André Trulsen and Klaus -Peter Nemet Hoffenheim.

1 FC Köln

For the 2012/13 season Stanislavsky was coach of the 1st FC Cologne, who was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. As his assistant coach Trulsen and Nemet were also committed. On May 18, 2013, one day before the end of the season, announced the 1st FC Cologne that Stanislavski's wish was granted to immediate termination of his contract. As a basic Stanislavsky called that he had not reached its goal in terms of a rise or relegation place with fifth scarce.
