Geography

Hollenthon is the Hunchback world, the southeastern part of the industrial district in Lower Austria. The area of ​​the municipality covers 23.79 square kilometers. 47.95 percent of the area is forested.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Hollenthon.

History

Before Christ's birth, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area of the Celtic hillfort castle on the Schwarzenbacher Castle Hill.

Later, under the Romans today Hollenthon then lay in the province of Pannonia.

In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place told the eventful history of Austria.

According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1048 inhabitants. In 1991 the municipality had 1,000 inhabitants, 1033 and 1981 in 1971, 1047 inhabitants.
