Hollern-Twielenfleth

Hollern ( plattd.: Hullern -Twielenfleth ) is a municipality in the district of Stade in Lower Saxony. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Liihe, which has its headquarters in the town of stone churches.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Old Country, the largest fruit growing area in Europe, right on the lower Elbe between Stade and Hamburg. Apart from the two districts Hollern (coordinates) 53.5929079.547937 and Twielenfleth (coordinates) 53.6011339.557454 there is a third, Bassenfleth (coordinates) 53.61038659.5391452.

History

In 1059 the town was founded Twielenfleth. Since 1976 there is a citizenship Twielenfleth, which has since committed to the preservation of the place name Twielenfleth. 2009, there was a large 950 - year celebration.

Coat of arms

In split shields of silver and red, on a green sign foot, in a silver river in wave cut. Top right a red tower, golden considered left a silver direction light.

The defense tower in the coat of arms is the emblem Hollerns. The beacon is Twielenfleth and identifies the part of congregation for the river traffic. The silver river through the green march is the same.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

In the community Hollern operate the bus line Stade 2357 - Hollern - stone churches - York - Hamburg - Cranz KVG Stade as well as several corporate and school-related bus lines, all of which are connected to the Hamburg Transport Association. The site extends to a large extent along the fruit march route that connects the communities on the Lower Elbe.
