Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania

Hollidaysburg (Pennsylvania) is an American parish in Blair County in the Allegheny Mountains and is also the county seat. The city lies on the Juniata River, approximately 11 kilometers south of the city of Altoona (Pennsylvania), and in 2000 had 5,368 inhabitants.

The first mention of Hollidaysburg in 1798. Until 1814, the site of several houses and a tavern was. Between 1834 and 1854 the city had a major port on the Pennsylvania Main Line Canal and Allegheny Portage Railroad in the early industrial enterprises and settled there. With the opening of the main line of the Pennsylvania Railroad between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, the importance of the community as a transport hub shifted the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona, which had until well into the first half of the 20th century experienced a tremendous growth. A transport connection in this city was by the Altoona and Logan Valley Electric Railway.
