The game world

Both rulebook as well as enhancements include comprehensive information on the game world is divided into two parts: the upper world, which essentially corresponds to the real world in 1936, and the hollow world, a fantastic world, which can be found inside the earth. The basic idea of the game is that characters from the upper world for some - get reasons from the upper world into the hollow world - mostly scientific. Here, the path to the hollow world is much easier than out of the back.

The Upper World

Most upper world dwellers rely on the technology that has gained especially during and after the " Great War " enormous progress enormously. On the other hand, the occult acts very active - especially the Thule Society and other aspects of the Third Reich are attributed to strong tendencies to occultism, and even to necromancy.

The Hollow Earth

There are a variety of ways to get into the hollow world that propose the rulebook, including drills and polar openings. The hollow world is a world inside the Earth, which is representing as an independent and isolated, with few exceptions, habitat, home to prehistoric animals and plants. It is thus comparable forgotten with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's world. In addition to flora and fauna of the hollow world is also a mirror of human history, as it has repeatedly devious people from the outside world into the hollow world - including pirates and Amazons, to which one can meet in hollow world adventures.

Characters

The characters who take the important parts of the story are superior to the average man and embody usually a certain archetype of man ( Mad Scientist, Professor Cocky, etc.). In general, each character has one or more disadvantages of physical, mental or social in nature, the extent to humanize him again and provide evidence of character game.

Criticism of the German translation

The German edition of the book in the translation of the movement has been criticized for publishing that the translation was apparently not sufficient or not submitted to the editorial, so that many errors have crept in detail. One of the most obvious flaw is that two sample authors were misspelled on the blurb ( " Vules Verne " instead of " Jules Verne " and " Sir Arthur Conan Doyle " instead of " Sir Arthur Conan Doyle "). It is also noticeable that the English abbreviation for the unit of length ft. foot apparently was automatically converted to " walk ", so some words ending in " foot " instead of "Ft ".
