Holon
Cholon (alternatively Holon, Hebrew חולון, Arabic حولون ) is a city in Israel in the metropolitan area of Gush Dan south of Tel Aviv. To the west it borders on Bat Yam and Rishon LeZion in the south.
Cholon is among the largest cities of Israel. The city is an industrial suburb of Tel Aviv. In it is to Haifa the second largest industrial zone in Israel. The city is home to almost half of the Samaritan community.
History
" Cholon was named after the sand (Hebrew: Chol ) on which it was founded, and at the same time after a city in the tribe of Yehudah ( Judah ) (Joshua 15:51 ). " The settlement was founded in 1934. In 1950 she was awarded the status of a municipality.

Cholon is the site of the annual Israeli singing days ( Yeme Zemer ). A cultural highlight is the annual musical summer school, organized by Daniel Barenboim.
Cholon has a well-known children's museum, the Holon Children's Museum in which, inter alia, blindness and deafness can be simulated, one of the largest public libraries in the country ( Mediatech ), since 2010, a design museum, designed by Ron Arad, the Egged Bus Museum with over 60 historic buses from the time of the creation of Israel and the national comic Museum (Israeli Museum of Caricature and Comics ).
