Holsbeek is a Belgian municipality located in the province of Flemish Brabant. It consists of four sub- communities Holsbeek, Kortrijk - Dutsel, Nieuwrode and Sint -Pieters -Rode.

Origin of the name

Holsbeek was mentioned in the year 874 the first time, at that time under the name Hulisbach. The present spelling is common only since 1760. The name is composed of hauls, which is derived from Hulst and the Dutch term for a Holly, and Beek, which means as much as Bach.
