Holsman Automobile Company

The Holsman Automobile Company was an American automobile manufacturer that was established from 1902 to 1910 in Chicago (Illinois ). It was founded by Henry K. Holsman and established hochrädrige cars.

History

Initially, only two-cylinder engines were installed in 1909, there were also four-cylinder engines. The rear wheels were driven by hemp ropes. As they are - especially in wet weather - proved to be very unreliable, they were soon replaced by chains. The vehicles were delivered only with iron-shod wheels, even at a time when the competitors had long since been transferred to rubber-tired wheels.

Sold to the models until 1906 quite well; the company could increase sixfold its emissions as compared to 1905 - so did the customers later more modern cars, but did not provide Holsman. 1910, the Company reported for bankruptcy.
