Homestay

A host family is a family that for a certain period as part of a student exchange, study abroad, or a major event (eg, World Youth Day, the church days) receives a non-local young people.

Host families do this usually unpaid and volunteer to get to know people from other cultures and language areas to meet their children 's long -awaited Bruder-/Schwesterwunsch (on time) or just for a good purpose. In some cases ( eg in countries with high cost of living ) is the host families also paid a grant, a small compensation, but in which the expenses usually not covered.

Paid stays with host families are called Homestay.
