Honaz

Honaz is the capital of the district of the Turkish province of Denizli. Honaz located about 20 km east of the provincial capital city of Denizli. Honaz had at the last census 9,830 inhabitants ( as of December 2010). With the associated villages and small towns, the population is 30 530. The place is the successor of the ancient settlement place Chonai, of which only a few relics are preserved.

The city Honaz is characterized by a rich flora and fauna with rare species. The Honaz - Dagi National Park is a large forest area in which the Honaz Dagi is the highest point on the Aegean Region with 2,528 meters.
