Honda Civic three-door (1991-1995)

The fifth generation of the Honda Civic was introduced in autumn 1991 and produced until early 1996. The rear of the three-door model is presented with a horizontally split tailgate ( the so-called alligator Tailgate ). Safety- the fifth generation with ABS and airbag equipped Euro.

The engine range for the three- door model includes a range of engines from 1.3 liter petrol engine with 75 hp to 1.6 liter engine with two overhead camshafts and VTEC technology with 160 hp, the sedan covers a power range from 90 to 160 hp. With this generation, two new VTEC engines were introduced, an SOHC VTEC and VTEC -E engine.

As a contribution to the Roadster wave of CRX 1992 comes as a two-seater with removable roof, which is equipped with a to 7600 min-1 rotating 160 hp VTEC engine.

In January 1994, the Civic range has been expanded with a five-door hatchback.

Two power levels were offered, which were reached in the different markets with different engines. In North America, there was also traditionally a third beginner level.
