Honeywell HTS900

The Honeywell HTS900 is a wave turbine, which was designed by the American manufacturer Honeywell for use in helicopters.

History and Development

The engine is a further development of the Lycoming LTP 101 (now Honeywell LTS101 ) Turboprop drive and is intended to replace this long-term. His approval was granted in December 2008. Should be used in the Bell ARH -70, but its procurement credit of 6.2 billion dollars was rejected by the U.S. Congress in October 2008. The company Marenco Swiss Helicopter will use it for their prototypes Skye SH09, whose first flight is scheduled for early 2014.

Specifications

The engine features a two-stage radial compressor ( taken from the Honeywell T800 ) which is driven by a single stage turbine. The output shaft is also driven by a single-stage turbine. It is controlled in a dual redundant FADEC system.
